The external brake roller BT120 is a mechanical damper specifically designed for conveyor line systems. Its core function is to provide controlled, smooth buffering and deceleration for moving pallets or workpieces, effectively eliminating impact, noise, and the risk of goods toppling. It is specially optimized for the bottom structure of pallets.
The external brake roller BT120 employs a unique "indirect contact" transmission method:
Power Transmission Path: Pallet bottom cross member → Driven rubber-coated wheel → braking roller → Internal braking mechanism.
Workflow: When a pallet passes over the damper, its bottom cross member (perpendicular to the conveying direction) presses down and rotates two high-friction rubber-coated wheels. These wheels transfer the horizontal kinetic energy via physical contact to the braking roller below, which is connected to the internal damping system, thereby achieving smooth, linear deceleration of the pallet.
In cross roller conveyor systems, pallets often coast without power, where excessive inertia can easily cause toppling or severe collisions. By installing BT120 brake rollers at set intervals within the conveyor, pallet coasting speed can be precisely controlled, ensuring they come to a gentle and accurate stop at predetermined positions, achieving a "soft landing."
This is the most distinctive application highlight of the BT120. Unlike traditional dampers that might act directly on the flat bottom surface of a pallet, the BT120 ingeniously utilizes the pallet's own structure:
Efficient Power Capture: The perpendicular cross members and the rotating rubber-coated wheels form an optimal "engagement," ensuring damping force is transmitted with maximum efficiency and preventing slippage.
Installation Flexibility: No modification of the pallet is required, nor are large installation cutouts needed in the conveying surface. It simply needs to be installed beneath the path of the cross members, saving space and allowing for simple deployment.
Wide Applicability: Perfectly compatible with common wooden, plastic, and metal pallets used in logistics, warehousing, and assembly lines.
Pallet/Workpiece Weight: Select a model with the appropriate damping coefficient based on the maximum load.
Operating Speed: Consider the initial speed of the pallet when it enters the damping zone.
Required Stopping Distance: Determine the necessary deceleration effect based on available installation space constraints.
Pallet Bottom Structure: Confirm the spacing, height, and material of the cross members to ensure effective contact with the rubber-coated wheels.
| Model | Object Weight |
| BT120/AA | 200-500kg |
| BT120/BA | 500-1000kg |
The installation height of the BT120 must be precisely adjusted to ensure reliable contact between the rubber-coated wheels and the pallet cross members, while avoiding excessive lifting of the pallet.
Ensure the mounting base has sufficient rigidity to withstand the reaction forces generated during the damping process.
Over ten years, we provided two types of brake roller ( internal and external ). Our company has provided brake rollers (speed controllers) for handling gravity racks for different projects. Our users have been highly satisfied with our smooth and reliable performance for a long time.
The design and components of our systems are continuously being updated and improved based on customer feedback and on-site analysis. We have the medium and heavy models for applications with 200-1500 kg pallets, as well as the light models for 10-100 kgs applications.
