What is the working principle of belt driven roller

The belt driven roller is a continuous transportation machine with a conveyor belt as a traction and load-bearing component. The conveyor belt is wound around the driving roller and various redirecting rollers, and the tensioning device gives appropriate tension. When working, under the driving of the driving device, the friction and tension between the roller and the conveyor belt are used to make the conveyor belt runs.

 

Design information of belt driven roller

You need to know the following design information of belt driven roller.

1. What we discuss is the theoretical load capacity of single roller, but in the application, you need to consider the installation error of the convey surface, local bearing fo goods' loading and unloading and so on.

2. Steel tube and stainless steel tube are suitable for heavier load, their intension and stiffness are similar so normally we consider it the same of the load capacity.

3. The installation ways like female thread, male thread which combine the shaft with the frame, should have larger load capacity than the loose connection ways (e.g. spring loaded, mortise).

4. Precision bearing has larger load capacity than semi-precision pressing bearing. Uniformly

distributed load has larger load capacity than concentrated load (curve chart is uniformly distributed, dynamic load).

5. The closer supporting point (bearing position) to shaft end, the larger of the roller load capacity.

6. Some roller's load capacity is limited by other factors (e.g. O-belt's max.driving force, chain's ultimate tension, effective accumulation load).


What are the characteristics of belt driven roller

There are two ways to drive the power conveying roller, which are divided into two categories: "belt drive" and "chain drive".

Belt driven roller: stable operation, low noise, low environmental pollution, high-speed operation is allowed, but its load capacity is relatively weak, and it should be avoided to work under oily conditions.

Chain driven roller: large load capacity, strong adaptability to the environment, it can work in occasions that are often exposed to oil, water and high temperature, but the chain is easy to wear in a dusty environment. The conveying speed of goods generally does not exceed 30m/min.
