Character & Advantage of R1800 Medium/Heavy Duty Gravity Roller

  1. Precision ball bearing is fixed in the steel housing, tight and durable, it has heavier load capacity than polymer bearing housing.

  2. The requirement of working environment is not high, it can work well both in high and low temperature.

  3. Complete series of diameter, wide range of load capacity.

  4. Temperature range -20℃ to +80℃.

Shaft Material and Mounting Methods

All the load on roller finally transfer to the support frame through the shaft, so the choice of shaft is very important. All the shaft of Longwei roller adopt high-quality carbon structural steel, confirmed to GB/T905 requirement about cold draw round steel.

Note: the shaft surface is zinc plated only in the case of stainless steel tube or PVC tube, while in most cases (steel, zinc-plated), the shaft surface treatment is anti-rust oil applied. Of course, it is customized as you need.

Mounting method decides the complex of roller disassembly, meanwhile, different mounting methods also influence the load capacity of roller.

Female Thread


1. It is the normal mounting method of sprocket roller. Roller is fixed with the frame by the bolt fastening on both ends.

2. Assembly and disassembly take more time than other mounting methods.

3. Shaft length is equal to frame inner width, normally we take -0.5mm minus deviation when manufacturing.

4. Hole on the frame should be as smaller as possible to decrease roller’s altitude difference after installation. The space should no more than 0.5mm.

5. In the case of aluminium frame, shaft should be higher diameter while smaller thread to lower the risk of shaft penetrating aluminium frame.


Spring Loaded


1. Most popular mounting method in gravity roller, assembly and disassembly are simple and quick.

2. Draw bar is needed between frames to stabilize and reinforce the conveyor.

3. The installation hole on frame should be bigger than the shaft diameter, normally +0.5mm.

4. Installation allowance is needed between the frame inner width and roller. It is not only for leaning installation, but also for the accuracy of frame installation (recommended 1mm for one side, total 2mm for the installation allowance).

5. Spring loaded mounting method is not recommended for the sprocket roller, it could cause unpredictable problem.


Flat Milling


1. Originated from the mining idler, the round end of roller is machined flat to fix into the frame groove. Assembly and disassembly is very easy.

2. Roller radial direction is not bound, so it is suitable for supporting roller of belt conveyor, but not suitable for sprocket roller, poly-vee roller or other drive roller.

3. Creating other mounting way of end hole fixed with the frame, completely delete the possibility of shaft roating, mainly applied in adjustable accumulation roller.
